Siphiwe Gloria Ndlovu became a judge for the Caine Prize

Siphiwe Gloria Ndlovu, Zimbabwean novelist, filmmaker, and Catalyst author (City ofKings trilogy), was selected to be a judge in the 2024 Caine Prize for African Writing.

This past September, the prize winner was announced at an award ceremony.The Caine Prize for African Writing is a charity that brings African writing to a broader audience through its annual literary award for the best short story by an African writer from anywhere in the globe. In addition to the Prize, the Caine charity connects readers with African writers through public events and helps emerging African writers through annual Caine Prize workshop, which takes place in different African countries each year. By virtue of her accomplishments in the literary world, Siphiwe Gloria Ndlovu is one of the writers chosen to be a part of the panel of judges. According to the East African magazine, this year’s competition witnessed 320 entries spanning 28 African countries!


Siphiwe has made a name for herself ever since her debut in 2018. The Theory of Flight, followed by The History of Man, have won many impressive awards and honors, such as The Miles Morland Writing Scholarship, The Sunday Times Fiction Prize, and the Windham-Campbell Prize.
