Sifiso Mzobe, South African novelist and Catalyst author (Young Blood) was selected to
be a judge in the 2024 Huston Wright Awards. A ceremony to celebrate the nominees
and honorees will take place on October 18 in Washington, D.C.
The Hurston Wright Awards is a program that honors Black writers from around the
globe and in the United States for their unique literary talents and achievements. The
award is granted for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Acclaimed writers serve as judges to select nominees, finalists, and winners. Based on his exceptional literary accolades,
Sifiso Mzobe is one of the writers chosen to be a part of the panel of judges.
As a gifted author recognized both in the Americas and Africa, his novel Young Blood
has won many prestigious awards and honors, such as The Herman Charles Bosman
Prize, The South African Literary Award for a First-Time Published Author, The Wole
Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa, amongst others.
